Today's smile of hope is a joyful one. It's about a funny situation that happened for the Imam AlShafie. Imam AlShafie loved to learn any newly innovative things.
He loved to learn a branch of science that was ignored at his time and this science was Physiognomy. It is about studying facial features of people and their connections to people's behaviours. You can look at someone's face and say that he is brave, mean or miserly and so on.
Because of his love learning new sciences, he studied Physiognomy for 6 months. he wanted to apply the science he learned so when he was in Mecca, he decided to apply what he studied to someone who was sitting at his own house.
According to Physiognomy, the man was miserly So AlShafie went to him and said, "I am a stranger and i'm going to Mecca and i want to stay somewhere. Would you please accept me as a guest for just 3 days?". AlShafie expected that the answer would be "Go away" but he was surprised when the man answered "You are welcome". AlShafie was astonished as he thought that what he was studying was nuts. The man was generous and he welcomed AlShafie and served him some food. AlShafie became SAD as he thought he has wasted 6 months in nothing.
According to Physiognomy, the man was miserly So AlShafie went to him and said, "I am a stranger and i'm going to Mecca and i want to stay somewhere. Would you please accept me as a guest for just 3 days?". AlShafie expected that the answer would be "Go away" but he was surprised when the man answered "You are welcome". AlShafie was astonished as he thought that what he was studying was nuts. The man was generous and he welcomed AlShafie and served him some food. AlShafie became SAD as he thought he has wasted 6 months in nothing.
After a while, AlShafie went to his room. The man knocked the door so AlShafie thought that the man changed his mind. When AlShafie opened the door, the man said "You are sitting in the small room but we have a larger one for you to stay at it". AlShafie was shocked and couldn't say anything but thanking the man.
After the 3 days passed, AlShafie thought that he had spent 6 months in doing nothing. AlShafie greeted the man and thanked him for his good behaviours and was about to leave when the man said "Am i your father's servant?".
AlShafie was shocked again but this time from the changing of the man's tone. AlShafie said " why did you say so?" and then the man answered "Your food cost me 100 Dinars, your drinks were 20 Dinars and you stayed at the large room with 400 Dinars, So you have to pay 1000 Dinars before you leave. AlShafie smiled and became so happy. He paid the money but he became sure that the science he learned was TRUE.
Today's Story was a funny one just to make you laugh. What you should know is that Physiognomy is a great science.
